Atmashrama's Madhwa Gurukula is a unique learning center of Vedic Wisdom presented in the form of Madhwa Vaishnavism propounded by the 13th Century saint Sri Madhwacharya. As the legends say, this is the original system of knowledge that is passed on to the present generation through disciplic succession originating from Sri Hamsa form of Lord Sri Vishnu. This is also one of the major three schools of Vedanta popularly known as Tattvavada or Dvaita Vedanta.
The Gurukula is a serene place where the divine teachings of the scriptures are actively discoursed and learnt for more than fifteen hours per day. This is a place where the divine language Sanskrit runs in the veins of every inmate. This is a breeding ground for future poets and dialecticians.
Currently, nine full-time residential students are studying in the Gurukula. They are being trained in traditional branches of knowledge such as Vedas, Vedangas, Upanishads, Mahabharata, Ramayana, Gita, Bhagavatam and other Puranas, Vyakarana Shastra, Nyaya Shastra, Mimamsa Shastra and other systems of Indian Philosophy.
